a) name two amino acids that can form ionic bonds with
each other explain
B) which of the four classes of amino acids has side chain with the
greatest potential to form hydrophobic interactions explain
please help
A.
Ionic bond is formed by sharing of electrons. The atom which gains an electron gets a negative charge and the atom which loses an electron gets a positive charge.
Ionic bonding in proteins can be seen between positively charged and negatively charged amino acids. Positively charged amino acids are basic amino acids like lysine and arginine. Negatively charged amino acids are acidic amino acids like aspartic acid and glutamic acid.
I am giving you an example of ionic bond between lysine and aspartic acid in the given image.
B.
Hydrophobic interactions are formed between water and hydrophobic molecule which have a long chain of carbon or a benzene ring or some other nonpolar compound which is insoluble in water. So hydrophobic interactions will be seen in aromatic amino acids, phenylalanine tyrosine and tryptophan, because these three have a benzene ring.

Which three statements about amino acids are true? Use this chart of amino acid structures for reference. Lysine has one stereocenter (chiral center). Methionine is a thiol. The Leu side chain does not form hydrogen bonds with other amino acids. The form of glycine used by the human body is D-glycine. Ser and Thr are polar amino acids. Proline has an overall charge at physiological pH (7.4).
