With respect to training evaluation, what is the difference between the "reaction" and the "behavioral" levels of evaluation? Which level (reaction or behavioral) is more effective at determining if training was transferred to the job? Justify your response.
In the training evaluation, there are four levels of evaluation. They are Reaction, Learning, Behavior, and Results. While the reaction levels help in determining how many of the participants of the training related positively to the training, the behavior level helps in determining how much of the skills acquired through the training were used by the participants in their jobs.
In determining if the training was transferred to the job, the behavioral level would be most effective as it evaluates and analyzes the pariticpant's usage of the skills acquired through the training in his/her job. This would help the evaluator in determining the effectiveness of the training and the difference in the performance brought by the training and development of the participants.
