1. Proteins can have similar structure despite have different sequence. Explain why this is possible. Also, some protein may have conservative sequence. Explain the significance of this conservative sequence in proteins.
Proteins have similar structure yet they have differ in amino acid composition in polypeptide because as we know that during secondary or tertiary structure formation there will be bonding such as hydrogen bonding, vanderwall bonding, disuplhide bridge occurs between amino acid.
If the interaction occurs in such a way that same shape is regained by means of such bonding in between amino acid, then they have same shape yet amino acid is different in two polypeptide.
Some protein have conservative sequence due to following reasons:
This conserved sequences provide proper folding in different protein.
This sequences also helps in substrate binding to active sitewhen proteins are of enzymatic nature.
In proteins, it provides structural stability to them.
*Such conserved sequences are found even in different species.

Please explain why one amino acid may have a different pK in different proteins or in different regions of the same protein.
1.Explain recycling of proteins and wasted proteins . 2. Also, discuss high quality, low quality, and complementary proteins 3. Why do people take protein supplement? Are they safe and beneficial? What are the positive effects of a vegetarian diet?
1. Explain how the amphipathic nature of membrane proteins helps form the three-dimensional structure of a single-pass protein like a receptor, versus a multipass protein like a channel. 2. Describe the different ways by which cells confine proteins or restrict protein movement to a specific region of the plasma membrane
Explain why different populations have similar genes: examples alleles that code for light skin color in European populations also exist within African populations why?
In-Class Activity #12, Protein Tratlicking Worksheet 1. You are interested in four different proteins in a yeast cell: • protein 1 is a cytosolic protein protein 2 is a secreted protein • protein 3 is a nuclear protein protein 4 is a cell surface membrane protein with N-terminal end in extra-cellular space. a. You plan to study how the proteins are localized to their specific destination by creating the following mutations in the genes encoding proteins 1-4. Indicate how the...
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited disorder caused by different types of mutations, many of which prevent ions from moving across cell membranes. Normally there are channel proteins that allow passage of the ions, but in patients with one kind of CF these proteins seem odd. Closer examination shows that these proteins display the correct amino acid sequence. However, they fail to do their job. A) Given that the primary structure of the protein is correct, what can you infer...

Can sequences of a peptide adopt alternative conformations in different proteins? In other words, can the same peptide sequence exist as either an alpha-helix, a beta-sheet, or a beta-turn? Check all that apply. no, a sequence only adopts one or the other yes, because amino acids have different propensities for forming alpha-helices, beta- sheets, and beta-turns, therefore some amino acids are found to be in all three types of secondary structural elements yes, a sequence can adopt both
1.When comparing similarities among multiple protein structures, which of the following is false? (Level of Difficulty: Difficult) A) Proteins with the same function from a different species are likely to have similar motifs. B) Proteins with the same function from different species are likely to be more similar in sequence than in structure. C) An effective protein motif is likely be observed in multiple proteins. D) Proteins with the same motifs are likely to perform similar functions. E) None of...
Alternative splicing is present in about 90% of human genes and can explain why our 20,325 genes can encode more than 1,000,000 proteins. Examine the image below of Gene X: Exon A Intron #1 Exon B Intron #2 Exon C 1. (2 pts) To create a transcript, which portions of this DNA sequence would be REMOVED during splicing? (Please be specific-ie. Exon A, Intron #2, etc.) 2. (3 pts) Gene X can encode 7 different proteins! Explain how this is...
