1) Why do we use charge controllers in a PV system and what are their differences from an inverter?

2)You have a 10kW PV fixed system that is grid connected (no batteries) in Place X and you have a contract with a power company to sell all the produced electricity. What inclination and orientation would you use in order to maximize annual electricity production and why?

1)Charge controllers are used to prevent the batteries from being overcharged from PV plant current supply by regulating the current coming out of the plant towards the battery . It also prevents battery to suffer from over voltage condition by regulating the voltage.

Inverters are used to convert DC to AC and there is no control over circuit charging conditions but in case of charge controllers , there is sufficient regulation available to prevent overcharging .

2)The maximum power generation angle is a variable thing usually around 35 to 45 degrees . The exact angle is found using Sensors and MPPT trackers and also depend on local climatic conditions and geography.
