what information that you learned this week is applied to your life and/or work environment?
with traditional bases for pay: seniority and Merit;
incentive pay and person-focused pay
Payment system for employees generally seems to be very difficult to establish in any organization. Some of the usual approach or methods are Seniority vs Merit. Many organization still follow the traditional way of providing seniority as a primary factor. But this has reduced the capability in terms of employee job satisfaction as hard work and merit of performance were not considered. In the current era irrespective of seniority proper merit and the dedication or value addition is considered as the major criteria for appraisals. Incentive pay make lot of sense for job functions like sales and marketing where it provides extra motivation for employees to work hard and reach their target. Incentive pay is consider to be a motivation to be more active and looking forward for a prosperous career. The person focused pay is more of individual assessment and it drives more on individual contribution role. But it is very difficult to establish such system where employees strength are more.
