1. Chromatic Abberation : This is due to the lens system having different focal length's for different set of wavelength's (colors), this leads to a different convergent points for different colors, and this distorts the image. This can be prevented by using high focal length lens, or by using achromatic lenses.

2. Spherical Abberations: This is caused due to the refraction of waves which are farther from the center are less as compared to the waves nearer to the center this leads to different focal points for light at different regions of the lens. This can be prevented by using one more lens in conjuction.

3. Astigmatism: This is caused due to irregularly shaped lens causing the light too not focus in one single point. This can lead to straight lines being appearing as curved. This can be fixed by using a cylindrical lens.
