1) Developmental Delay is defined as a minor or major delay in the process of development in a child; thus means that child does not reach their developmental milestones at the time it is expected. For example, few babies start to walk as young as 8 months, while other babies don’t initiate their first steps until 14 months. Similarly some kids start to speak at the age 18 months of while others who don't may be just a little behind in that one skill.
