A researcher has calculated gametic frequencies for an experiment and is quite confused by the results. Can you help the researcher by determining the coefficient of linkage disequilibrium from their data (to 2 decimal places)?
The data that they have are:
f(CE) = 0.5872
f(Ce) = 0.1728
f(cE) = 0.1328
f(ce) = 0.1072

Formula for linkage disequilibrium is = (x11)(x22) - (x12)(x21)

In the above problem

X11 = 0.5872

X12 = 0.1728

X21 = 0.1328

X22= 0.1072

Hence LD =( 0.5872*0.1072 )- (0.1728*0.1328)

= 0.0629-0.0229

= 0.04
