Answer: Yes, Wal-Mart has a stakeholder’s approach towards social responsibility. The company’s sustainability report 2018 mentions about the various programs that the company runs for the various sections in the society. It mentions about the steps that the company has taken not just for the shareholders but also for the environment and the communities. The company has well developed programs for disaster relief where it has spent $ 38 million, hunger relief and so on. Similarly the company reduced 28 percent of its emissions has worked for reducing waste generated from its operations. The company not only reports its financial performance in its annual reports but also about the environmental and social performance. This indicates that the company is committed towards all the stakeholders rather than just the shareholders.
