I got these two questions wrong on my exam....can you walk me through these? Thank you in advance..Trig based Physics. (non-calculus)

1) An angry bird is fired through the air with an initial velocity of 22 m/s in the vertical direction and 40 m/s in the horizontal direction. How far does it fly before it comes back to ground level?

2) A ball is kicked with an initial velocity of 12 m/s in the horizontal direction and 15 m/s in the vertical direction. What maximum height is attained by the ball?
