9) What are the ends of the firm by which ethical leadership does not take place? Why?
answer-
In a firm , the ends at which ethical leadership does not take place when leaders of that firm focus on profit making, ignoring welfare of its employees and customers, does not support and communicate with them well. Leaders who take decisions which only make profit at any cost.
This is because ethical leaders are those leaders at top management like CEO and middle management level like general manager or department manager who support ethical values like honesty, integrity, truth and fairness but when those leaders start to take decision like making products which bring profit by reducing quality of product then it is not ethical.
Leaders who start to use their legitimate power being top leader and take biased decisions, show discrimination and does not communicate well then ethical leadership is absent in such firm.
for example- Martin Winterkorn take the decision to cheat on emission test on its diesel cars of Volkswagen which violate Environmental standards or EPA law of US and cause injury to thousand of people because of poor diesel engine. This is all because of the end of earning profit and prevent from loss. this was great example of unethical leadership in Volkswagen.
