Answer #1

There are mainly 5 principles of ethical leadership. They are :-

1) Respect :-

A leader would be ethical when he respects himself as well as others in a society. It is a complex term and which is why it needs proper understanding. Leaders who are kind, empathetic and can bear opposition's view, are more respectful to his/her employees which increases a trustworthy and long term relationship between the two.

2) Service :-

It is a saying that "True leaders makes leaders and not followers," which means that ethical leaders always put their priority to serve the employees and think of welfare of the employees. So these leaders always try to satisfy the employees first and then think of other stuffs.

3) Justice :-

Ethical leaders are responsible to give justice to the society and to remain unbiased and fair. So, a leader is expected to treat each and every employee in the same manner and treat everyone fairly. It would also increase employee contribution towards the organization as well as maintain a good workplace environment.

4) Community :-

Building community is important as it can give an idea of the purpose of the grouping. An ethical leader can widely impact community with his/her positivity. The interest of community too can be understood as well as the culture of the community.

5) Honesty :-

As people tries to follow the leader, so it is important to remain honest and ethical to set up a role model for the society. If a leader would misrepresent a situation with dishonesty, then it would influence the surrounding and thus make a negative work culture.

Among the 5 principles, I think Respect and Justice are the most important. It is because leaders needs to respect the employees which is the main base of a relationship. If employees won't get respect, they would not feel valued and thus reduce their productivity eventually. On the other hand, one of the ethical forms is doing justice to everyone and remain unbiased in the workplace. This would help leaders to see all the employees as same and in equal manner. Moreover, it would be eventually mitigate the favoritism in the organization.

Hope this helps :)
