This protein based on the blast result is " ribosome maturation factor". This protein is required for the maturation of 30S subunit of ribosomes in prokaryotes. This maturation of ribosomes help in the ribosomes activation , so that protein translation could carry out. The sites present on the protein that help in processing their function is the amino acid between 103- 133 amino acid, that is required for the 30S subunit activation. The other sites is the amino acid between 3- 50 amino acid

If the gene required for the expression of this protein is inactivated , then the ribosome 30S subunit will not able to bind with mRNA and hence protein translation could not take place.
