The three prominent features of great public speakers are
1.Being yourself
2.Connect with the audience through story telling
3.Confidence with presence of mind.
If ever I become a public speaker my prompt naive and healthy narrations of my experiences, their consequences, learning and honest disposition will definitely connect me to the audiences. I believe a little wit and humor added to challenging issues make us all comfortable to understand it with ease.
The public speaking techniques that challenge me are self awareness and engagement with your audience as people of different culture perceive differently talks on the same issues and often the feeling of having little knowledge may creep in and disturb. To overcome this I do a lot of homework about the environment and interests of the audience, associate my topic with familiar stories of the locals. I invite queries and listen to them in between. Another aspect is about voice modulation which is the essence of a good oration or discourse. The best of the rest of professional speaking is ' keeping it short and to the point ' .
