1.Which one is the limiting agent, hydrochloric acid, or t-BuOH? Present your calculated data to conclude. Assume the density of concentrated hydrochloric acid is 1.2 g/mL and t- BuOH has the density of 0.78 g/mL.

The limiting reagent is t-BuOH. In this reaction generally the HCl quantity would be high. So the excess HCl we can remove by base(sodium carbonate solution). The product of tertiarybutylchloride depends on the amount of tertiarybutylalcohol but not on quantity of HCl.
