Answer #1

Answer

Suppose we are studying the media effect on the body image

In this case, our dependent variable is the body image because it is dependent on the media effect and independent variable is the media effect because it is not dependent on any variable

So, IV = media effect

and DV = body image

Since we want to test the hypothesis that there is a correlation between media effect and body image

So, we assume that null hypothesis is that there is no correlation and alternate hypothesis is that there is a significant correlation

therefore, H1:

this means that the correlation coefficient is not equal to 0

How does military sonar affect whale behavior? Mass strandings of whales occur on beaches near military exercises using active sonar, in which sound waves are broadcast to detect underwater features. This raises concerns about the effects of humangenerated underwater sounds on animal behaviour. Scientists are collecting behavioural data on several species of whales to find out how active sonar affects them. Part A There are debates about what action the military should take to avoid harming the whales. How could...
