Answer #1

HF dissociates in water giving rise to H+ ion and F- ion. Since it a weak acid, it undergoes little dissociation (very low dissocaition constant, Ka) and hence most of the HF remains in undissociated form.

HF(aq) = H+(aq) + F-(aq)

Initially- 1M 0 0

Change - -(x ) +(x) +(x)

Equilibrium - (1 -x ) x x

(undissociated HF)
