Many states have committed to the creation of public green spaces including city parks. However, the number of parks in a state might be influenced by the classification of the state (predominantly rural or urban) and the region of the US the state is located in (West, Southwest, Midwest, Southeast, or Northeast).

All 50 states were included in this study. The classification, the region, and the total number of parks in each state was recorded. The objective of the study was to determine how the number of parks in a state relates to state classification and, also, to region.

StatCrunch output applying the methods of two-way analysis of variance is provided. Assume a 0.10 significance level for the test(s).

a. State the null and alternative hypotheses in the test of an interaction effect between state classification and region.

  1. Using proper notation, report the (1) test statistic and the (2) p-value for the test of an interaction effect as described in part (a).

  2. Based upon the test result, should the main effects hypotheses be tested? Yes or No.

  3. Explain the answer that you provided in part (c) in one to two complete sentences.

Here we examine associations between AS3MT polymorphism, arsenic metabolism and diabetes. Fasting blood glucose, oral glucose tolerance and self-reported diagnoses were used to identify diabetic individuals. Inorganic...
