What does it mean when scientists describe that resiliency to cope with environmental challenges is linked to biodiversity?
Answer: Resilience is the concept and term which helps in describing size and shape of a strained body to recover, or easily in change, deformation caused by compressive stress. Biodiversity can be defined in simple answer that the living organisms from all sources like plants and animals in the world or in a particular space or region, is a high level of which is usually considered to be important and desirable in our ecosystem.
The scientists described that resiliency to cope with environmental challenges is linked to the biodiversity. The biodiversity of an ecosystem affects the resilience of an ecosystem. The evidence of this is based on studies on like grassland plant communities,in the the cold water-rocky climates and they found the accelerated environmental change on ecosystem.Early results found that the ecosystem production of diverse grassland plant communities was more enough resistant. Changing less when drought, and more resilient, recovering more quickly after drought.
This is evidenced by the scientists that the success of the developed grassland plant communities over underdeveloped communities as well as by the deforestation of kelp forests due to kelp-grazing herbivores becoming extirpated in ecosystem.
hope it helps!!!
