Law enforcement agencies are provided with the task to bring about certain changes in society. now it is easy to understand that certain changes are difficult to be brought about because of certain forces acting in a way to Hinder such a change. there are also certain forces which are in favour of the change and hence in every society there is Lewin’s force field at work.

The law and enforcement agency has to ensure that to bring about the certain change they need to have more forces in favour of the change. the other aspect here to be noted is that any change that is and forced might not be sustainable if the general masses and certain larger forces are against that change. one very important way of bringing forces in favour of the change is through accountability and transparency e in the law enforcement agency.

Accountability in the law enforcement agency brings about a sense of responsibility among the unit and also strengthen the faith of the people when the police are held liable and responsible for such actions. Certain researches have shown that if cases registered against the law enforcement agencies when treated by independent review bring about more accountability within the agency and the agency feels responsible for their actions and their objectives.

Transparency in the law enforcement agency brings about a change in the way general masses look at the actions of the agency. When there is transparency in the processes and the law then the trust in such institutions starts to strengthen. Transparency brings about awareness among people and this motivates people to support the cause of certain changes that are being pursued by the law enforcement agency.

The transparency and accountability within the law enforcement agency brings about a change in the forces supporting their objective. This helps in bringing about certain changes to society without worrying about the sustainability of such changes. The support that is garnered for such issues makes it easier for the enforcement agencies to achieve their objectives much more quickly and effectively as such support outweighs the forces against the changes.
