Answer

Claim is that  35% of Americans go out for dinner once a week

so, we wish to test whether it is equal to 35% or not equal to 35%

so, null hypothesis is

and alternate hypothess is

option D is correct because it is a two tailed hypothesis test

(There should be a  proportion p instead of in the hypothesis because we have percentage but not the mean value. None of the option include p, so I just answered it and picked the one option)

Option 1 or 2 Option 1: Think about a population mean that you may be interested in and propose a confidence interval problem for this parameter. Your data values should be approximately normal. For example, you may want to estimate the population mean number of times that adults go out for dinner each week. Your data could be that you spoke with seven people you know and found that they went out 2, 0, 1, 5, 0, 2, and 3...

You wish to test the claim that the average IQ score is less than 100 at the .005 significance level. You determine the hypotheses are: Ho:u= 100 H1:4 < 100 You take a simple random sample of 72 individuals and find the mean IQ score is 96.7, with a standard deviation of 15.5. Let's consider testing this hypothesis two...

We randomly assign a group of participants suffering from depression into two groups: those who participate in an exercise program 4 days a week for 2 months, and a control group not assigned to an exercise regimen. Depression is measured at the end of two months. The data are below: Exercise No Exercise 19 25 25 17 27 35 15...

The Mayo clinic recommends that people exercise 30 minutes a day. We will assume that exercise activity levels are normally distributed (yeah, I know they are not – but humor me....). A researcher wants to test whether the amount of daily exercise by vegetarians is different from that goal. To investigate this belief, he randomly samples seven vegetarians and measures how many minutes per day they exercise. His results are: 29, 35, 36, 33, 31, 29, and 38. (a) Which...
