✓ my answer to the above question is definitely going to be depending on the country I will be working as an foreign employee. But, the views maybe subjective to my values, culture and background.
I think that the personal/personality dimensions viz, extraversion and open to experience will be quiet effective to deal with the situation and adapt the work as well as social environment of that country. Because, when a person is open to experience, he will be positive and try to learn new things, build strong relationships and stay connected with the people. Extraversion type of personality can be helpful to have clear communication, and avoid any conflicts or misunderstanding. It helps to strengthen the relationships with other members in that organisation unit and ease the process of work.
Based on my upbringing, religious beliefs, and the area of country, the most challenging cultural aspects of the host country will be to adjust to their food habits. As I am a pure vegetarian, I can't really have or even imagine to eat meat or any non veg items. This will be a problem for me. And I need to find ways to get good food with all the veg dishes. Countries like china, USA and many others have majority of people who are non vegetarian and are very open when it comes to maintaining the relationships. Marriages and divorce cases are very common and not a big deal in countries like USA, and other western areas. This can be a cultural shock, and might influence the attitude and behaviour towards the people.
One must also study the workplace differences and organisational structure to understand how employees are treated and what are the values, core beliefs and work patterns prevails in the office. Sometimes, it is very hard to deal with an authoritative style management. Therefore, it is necessary to get trained for handling the tasks with perfection and get succeed in the work.
