What form of subsistence pattern is found in the Neolithic period? Name three geographic regions where Neolithic lifeways appeared independently.

Ans:Neloithic period is the last stone age.It is also called neolithic revolution due to various important changes like discovery of wheel.

The economy and social life underwent a radical transformation and a form of subsistence emerged which was based on:

•Agriculture,when man began to produce instead gather.Various crops were grown like wheat,cotton,horse gram,rice.

•Domestication of animals began like cattle,sheep,goat and dogs.

•begining of village formation with mud houses and in some places man began to live in caves or pits.

•Invention of wheel began for pottery to make utensils of pottery for cooking and storage.

•Use of sharp weapons like axes,saws ,bows etc.

These changes lead to settled life with village formation from mud houses and production of items of use locally and their consumption.Animals were used to carry articles and for milk and other prducts of use.While the pottery was used to store food and cooking.

This was a subsistence form of economy based on production according to need.

The three important sites of Neolithic age are:

Mehargarh in pakistan: Man produced wheat,cotton and live in houses made of mud bricks.

Burzhama in Indias kashmir region:Man lived in pits and practised fishing.Weapons were made of bones.Dog buried with his master found.

Kupruk in Afganistan:Man reared cattle like sheep and goat .

4)Jarf Al Ahmar in syria.
