You have just had the pleasure of meeting a famous actor who has been in the news for battling severe depression and drug abuse. As one of my students, you can't help but brag about the biology of happiness course. ;) He asks you for some pointers on where he is going wrong and what the connections are between his actions and happiness. He is interested in the biological aspects too! Let him have it!
Life in the human body is designed to be a blissful experience. Therefore, our brain has a wellspring of self-produced neurochemicals that turn the pursuits and struggles of life into pleasure and make us feel happy when we achieve them. There are four primary chemicals in the brain that affect happiness: dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins.
So the biological happiness course is basically targeted to \elease endorphins and the other happy hormones. Once this happens one should practice gratitude regularly and set and achieve goals so that you can bolster the amount of serotonin and dopamine in your brain. Happiness course can be achieved by following ways- like being with the ones who can bring smiles on your face, Hold on to your values, imagine the best for you, find a purpose an nd a goal in your life and divide it into smaller everyday goals.,push yourself and listen to your heart and not every time to others, develop confidence building exercises, develop trust, laugh at the smallest possible things, love your surroundings, develop a hobby and work on it, leave the idea of perfectionism, just be yourself are the few things which you can do to improve the happiness quotient.
