Answer #1

a) Yes. They need to keep continuing work as they cater to one of the big shares of grocery and essential commodity demands in the city of their operation. The community is currently suffering from the epic pandemic and the community should be provided grocery items such as vegetables and food grains during this need of the hour. By not continuing to work, this may disrupt the food supply chain as most retailers depend on large wholesalers like Walmart or Dillons for supplies.

B) Dillons/Walmart could provide 2 months advance salary along with bonus or hardship allowance to such employees who serve during this time of crisis. This will keep the employees motivated to serve the mankind.

Any company would not want to take risks by making employees work. Since they are in the service sector supplying essential commodity, they should put serving mankind above all other aspects. The company could endorse a specialized health insurance for all employees in case any causality occurs.

How will Walmart's use of robots change its break even point? Walmart (WMT) is robotic janitors in some of its stores. Walmart has purchased several Autonomous Cleaner (Auto-C) robots from Brain Corporation. An Auto-C robot looks like a Zamboni, the machine used to clean ice rinks. The robots scrub floors and clean store aisles. Sensors in the robots allow them to navigate around customers and other objects, so the robots can be used during store operating hours. Management at Walmart...

Even though emotional intelligence begins to develop in infancy, it continues to develop well into adulthood.  This week’s reading assignment suggests that we are able to improve our emotional awareness and emotional intelligence in order to...

Is Wal-Mart Waging War on Its Workers? Walmart, the world's largest private employer, is also one of organized labor's largest unionization targets. Traditional economists also assume human beings have complete self-control. But, for instance, people will buy cigarettes by the pack instead of the carton even though the carton saves them money, to keep usage down. They purchase locks for their refrigerators and overpay on taxes to force themselves to save. In other words, we protect ourselves from our worst temptations but pay a price to do so.
