    What types of meetings would you hold with the new work unit? How would the meetings be structured and why would it be necessary to hold these meetings

    • build effective work relationships with these people

    • ensure that all of the people in the unit (or team) are aware of what is required of them in terms of duties and performance standards

    • develop and communicate work plans with these people

    • maximise work performance and outcomes

    • review work plans

    • act as a role model

    • ensure that communication between all employees—whether they are paid or volunteers—is effective

    • provide performance feedback to the group and to individuals

    • explain relevant legislative and ethical obligations to the employees and monitor compliance

    • support the staff members and ensure that their learning needs are met

    • ensure staff use sustainable work practices
