1. Conduct research on the distinctions between Internet routers and personal access routers. Also explain the differences between personal access routers and wireless access points.

Internet Routers :- A router is a small device that sits between your modem and computer. It is a network device that connects multiple computers, phones, tablets, or other devices to form a managed local area network, and it provides Internet access to all of the compatible devices that are connected to the router, without having to buy an internet connection (new ISP plan) for all.

Modern routers allow users to connect devices both via Ethernet cables or wirelessly (using Wi-Fi).

Even though, in order for the router to distribute and deliver data to the devices within the local area network, it must be connected to an Internet service provider’s customer premises equipment (CPE) via an Ethernet cable.

Personal access routers:- Simply meaning of router is which routes, Its job is to take data coming in one connection, or “port,” and send it to one of the devices connected to another. Wireless electronic devices designed for home use do not always work with large, enterprise networks like the university has created. Personal access routers may provide secure internet connection to the single device. Enterprise WiFi networks, like the one deployed on campus, require careful coordination and cooperation to provide quality service.Personal wireless routers (or rogue access points) significantly and negatively impact the UA campus wireless environment.

An access point is a wireless network device that acts as a portal for devices to connect to a local area network. Wireless coverage of an existing network can be extend using Access point and increases the number of users that can connect to it . A high-speed Ethernet cable runs from a router to an access point, which transforms the wired signal into a wireless one. Access points can connect using wireless connectivity.

While routers able to manage local area networks, can communicate with outside network systems, acquire, distribute, and dispatch data in multiple directions, establish a point of connectivity, and also give security, access points typically only provide access to the router’s established network.

A WAP is not a router, and does not provide the functions of a router.
