The idea od discretion is good in a way as it allows the law enforcement officers to stop the people who are trying to spread terror around and control the forces that may be harmful for the larger public. It also allows them to devise ways and policies in creating a better world by formulating their own thoughts on it. But this power needs to be utilized in the most effective and suitable manner. We have to ensure the safety and respect of others associated with us directly and indirectly. Sometimes there can be many people misusing these powers for their personal benefits which is a very incorrect way of dealing with things. So we need to ensure there are forces who regulate the usage of this power in all possible ways.
