  1. Diverging lens always produce positive magnification as image is always erect and virtual.
  2. Diverging lens can never produce magnification larger than 1 as image formed is always smaller than the object size in this case.
  3. Converging lens produce positive magnification only when object is placed between the focal point and the optical center of the lens. In this case image is virtual and erect and hence positive magnification.
  4. Converging lens produces magnification of magnitude larger than 1 in all the cases when object is placed between the center of curvature (2f) and the optical center of the lens.
