  1. which statement(s) is(are) TRUE for a proton moving in the direction of an electric field? There may be more than one correct choice.

    1. Its electric potential energy increases as it goes from high to low potential.

    2. Its electric potential energy decreases as it goes from high to low potential.

    3. Its electric potential energy increases as its kinetic energy decreases.

    4. Its electric potential energy remains constant.

    5. Its kinetic energy decreases as it moves in the direction of the electric field.

    6. Its kinetic energy increases as it moves in the direction of the electric field.

    7. Its kinetic energy remains constant.

    8. Its total energy remains constant.

Answer #1

Initially tha proton has only potential energy but after acting an electric force, proton will accelerate and potential energy will decrease and kinetic energy will increase due to conservation of energy . So,

● Its electric potential energy decreases as it goes from high to low potential. √

● Its kinetic energy increases as it moves in the direction of the electric field. √

●Its total energy remains constant. √

these three statements are true.
