The current population of the world is 7.8 billion people. It is the total number of people living in the earth. It is estimated that the population of the world will rise to approximately 9 billion by the year 2050. Growing population has many negative effects like on communities, natural resources and on biodiversity. More people mean more pressure on the natural resources because for their livelihood they have to depend on it.

Yes, I agree that reducing birth rates as a strategy for controlling population growth. The most effective way to control the population growth is to reduce the fertility. Increasing population means there are more people in the reproductive age group. Population is not taken as a general challenge but it is related to those expanding nations where there is difficulty in meeting the daily needs.

There are various methods of controlling the population like-

Lowering birth rates is the most effective method that is adopted by many countries like china which adopted the one child per family policy that is very effective to an extent. There are also various countries which have adopted various methods in reducing the birth growths. It is the least popular but most effective method of controlling the population growth. There are various methods of controlling the birth growths like contraceptive methods which are very imperative in this. There are also other policies which encouraged people to control childbirth and have proper family planning. In advanced nations people are advised to have one or two children so that there will not be more pressure on the population and on the natural resources.
