Imagine a ball toss with your friend. Your friend stands a few meters away from you and when your friend catches the ball, the catch occurs at approximately the same height at which you let the ball go. In this lab and pre-lab, we will only be concerned with the times during which the ball is in the air (we will ignore the times when the ball is in contact with the thrower’s or catcher’s hands).

Draw position, velocity, and acceleration vectors for the ball near the beginning of the trajectory, at the apex of the trajectory, and near the end of the trajectory.
