How do one’s culture and social environment relate to health? Think of an immigrant group (in your specific community, or in general) and discuss how this group’s health related practices may differ from those of the larger community.

Answer: Due to diversity in the population, people have their own beliefs and values. These things affects the health of people. As many people have their own facts regarding the treatment or the health concern. For example, some people trust on the herbal remedies for any kind of treatment which sometimes worsen the disease. Not everything can be cured with the herbal therapy or remedies.

People in a small group have their own culture but lives in a larger community. These people believe in their own ideas of treatment and health concern. But these things differs from the larger community because they are the native of the particular place and they know what things can benefit them regarding foods and medicines. So, they can easily get the solution and likely to get less sick as compared to the smaller immigrated group.
