Answer #1

Air pollution is an important factor which need to be addressed in maintaining good health and good work. The different noxious gases injuring our lung is an important factor for deterirating our health.

e.g Indoor air pollution............use of mosquito or insect repellant, sometimes exhaust of the canteen is disturbing the atmosphere It contains .carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and fine particulates such as soot generated during preparation ofv food.

Inhaled particle larger than 10 µm in diameter will settle in high upper airway e.g nose. They are trapped at the angles of branching,Effective particle size range to reach the distal parenchyma is 0.5µm -5µm.But the particle size less than 5µm can bypass the airway barrier and can reach distal lung parenchyma to cause inflammation.

Question

Describe and assess  how the work environment factor you identified relate to national regulation(s) and/or policies for health at work.

Ans According to data of USA Clean air act there is 50% reduction of emission of polluted gas in environment since 1990,when a major ammendement was done. Since then minor changes are there in the act

There is EPA i,e environmental protection agency which is the regulatory body of  air quality and the stratospheric ozone layer.

Vehicles with fuels are an important reason for adding to air pollution. EPA in 2014 setting new vehicle emissions standards and a new gasoline sulfur standard beginning in 2017. The gasoline sulfur standard will enact more stringent vehicle emissions standards and will make emissions control systems more effective.Passenger car,Trucks, medium size vehicle, etc travelling daily to healthcare facility and sorrounding roads will thus minimize their polluting emission.

Step 2 One of the key concept say

Social determinants of health like safe housing ,fooding and education, health for all economic growth inviting job(work for all)

  • Those with high income and high socio economic status show better health. If the gap between the rich poor people,is more their health state difference is also high.
  • Education – An educated man has better health, more self confidence and more access to high income and thus better health
  • Safe water clean air, safe habitat and healthy sorroundings including good communities all contribute to good health. Working people meaning people in employment are healthier,

Discussed already by Clean air act

The Federal law of Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) i protects public drinking water supplies throughout the country.

If the water is not safe it can cause many diseases like parasitic ,bacterial and even helminthic diseases .Typhoid fever which is called enteric fever also can happen by contaminated water. And affected health will face more and more workdays lost.

For maintaining good health of a worker the social determinants of health should be maintained in a pretty higher level meaning all aspects should be very well maintained.
