Which of the following statements are true regarding the metabolome, the proteome, the genome, and the transcriptome?

The number of genes found in the genome equals the number of different proteins that can be made within any give cell.

The number of transcription products equals the number of proteins that can be made from these transcription products.

The number of genes found in the genome equals the number of different transcription products that can be made within any given cell.

Answer #1

Ans - None of the above , is the correct answer all the statement are given all are false .

Because , In statement 1 , which is estimately 30,000 genes in human genome makes an average of 3 protein . In statement 2 , also the number of proteins are not same as the no of transcription products . In statement 3 also same the proteins are always more and are not coded so that it is also false . In statement 4 proteins encoded by genome so all the statements are false. And answer is None of these .

Which of the following is not true regarding regulation of gene expression in eukaryotes? In eukaryotic cells, transcriptional activators often work by recruiting the transcriptional macinery to gene promoters DNA methylation is an example of an epigenetic mark that can be inherited Acetylation of histones can result in a more open chromatin structure to allow transcription to occur Different genes can be turned off or on between different organs or stages of development Transcription factor DNA sequences are bound by...

The genome of a newly discovered bacterial species (Bacillus sanfranciscus) is sequenced and found to have a circular genome of 8.7 x106base pairs (bp).  Open reading frame (ORF) analysis indicated the presence of 7,250 ORFs that encode proteins with an average length of 360 aa.    What is the information content of this genome (i.e.– how much information can be encoded in this length of DNA)?  Since the genetic code can be considered digital in nature, convert the information content of base pairs...
