Answer #1

Which of the following statements is true?

1. Neurofibromin protein acts alone independent of all other proteins in a mammalian cell.

Explanation: Neurofibromin protein encode by gene is known as NF1 and it is located in chromosome 17. It act as Tumor suppressor protein, mainly regulates Ras protein. These tumor suppressor prevents cells from growing. Hence option (1) is incorrect statement

2. BRCA1 protein can act alone to perform it’s function.

Explanation: It is human BRCA 1 is also known as cartaker gene . It is also a tumor suppressor gene. Hence option (2) is incorrect statement

3. Both 1 and 2 are true. Hence option (3) is incorrect statement

4. None of the above. Proteins function within

networks/pathways involving many other proteins and genes. Hence option (4) is correct statement
