the passgae below requires critacal analyis

Goal setting is a very important step to be able to track and measure achievements in both personal and professional aspects. “As an employer it is vital to set goals for you employee and make sure they have goals set for themselves (Impraise, 2019)”. Goals help keep employees motivated and committed to the task at hand. “The expectancy theory says, individuals have different sets of goals and can be motivated if they have certain expectations” (Vroom).

In my current position we set SMART goals which are listed out by the Mind Tools Content Team on Mind Tools website, “Specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound.” Our goals are set on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis; we also have a reward system/bonus structure when we exceed our goals. When setting goals you need to make sure you are setting the right goals to move the metric that will have the biggest impact on the success of the overall company.

When talking about setting goals, I think everyone is different. It depends on what that person wants for themselves and what they want to get out of their employers. I think the best way to set goals is to make sure they are achievable, set smaller set goals ignorer to achieve a larger goal. This keeps a person (at least myself) motivated when smaller goals are getting accomplished. I always try and do my best no matter what it is. I didn’t attend a four year college right from the start, I got my associates degree and then my bachelors degree, these were step goals in order to achieve my larger goal of MBA.

Goal setting is quite important for personal and professional life in order to analyze and monitor the accomplishment. Employers must set a certain goal for their employees to keep them motivated. As per expectancy theory, different people get motivated by different goals.

A SMART goal is defined as a specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound goals. The goals are set on the monthly quarterly and yearly basis and rewards are provided to those who achieve or exceed these goals.

Goal establishment is a more personalized activity as different people have different goals. A good goal-setting should be to have a goal with the smaller tasks, achievable targets and keep the individual motivated.
