If the study of drought and tree canopies were required, which portion of the electromagnetic spectrum would provide most pertinent information for Remote Sensing techniques?

As in remote sensing, we use false color composite for the visualization of vegetation or trees canopy. In this false color composite, we use near infrared band in the red color gun, red band in green color gun and blue in blue color gun for spatial visualization of area of interest. In the above mention configuration, clear water appears dark bluish (higher green band reflectance), while turbid water appears cyan(high red reflectance due to sediments). Bare soils, roads and buildings appears in the shades of yellow and gray and vegetation appears to be bright red in visuals. So, for trees canopy near infrared wave between 0.7-1.3 micrometer is used. As we know vegetation plays a crucial in determining whether an area is strucked by drought recently or not. So, in a conclusive way near infrared band and Short wave infrared(swir) wave plays a prominent role in remote sensing of drought assessment.
