  • Choose a work situation in which you were required to do a lot of creative thinking, or in which your job required doing a lot of very creative things. Explain ways the organization and your immediate supervisor or leader facilitated or hindered your effectiveness. What were the characteristics (or leadership styles) of top management and team leaders' roles to facilitate creativity? Use the information listed in Chapter 8 to guide your explanation.

  • Recall a meeting you attended. Assess as to whether or not the three parts of conducting a successful meeting were met. Explain what could have been done to improve this meeting. Evaluate how well the leader conducted the meeting. Offer recommendations on how the meeting could have been improved. In your opinion, did the group have any problem members? Assess how well the leader handled those individuals.

I needed to do a lot of creative thinking while developing marketing and promotional plan for our organization. I planned to adopt both online and offline marketing plan and a promotional event to promote products and services of our organization. Mediums are chosen for promotional strategy is as follows:

·       Social media promotion

·       Website promotion

·       Promotion through a mobile application

·       Promotion through television and radio

·       Print media promotion

·       Hoarding promotion

·       Inviting celebrity for promotion

The organization and the immediate supervisor has facilitated my effectiveness. All my colleagues and supervisor influenced me and supported me effectively to develop this promotional strategy. My supervisor provided me by providing updated software and a technical advisor to assist me in developing my promotional and marketing plans. Moreover, he encouraged me by increasing my incentive structure and have assured me with additional remuneration.

Characteristics of the top management and team leaders to facilitate creativity are mentioned below:

·       Top management facilitates creativity by ensuring additional remuneration

·       Team leaders facilitate creativity by ensuring departmental promotion

·       Team leaders and management of the organization facilitates employee creativity by providing them good ratings

I have recently attended a meeting at my organization. It was a stakeholder meeting to highlight financial details and yearly budget plan for the organization. Agenda and timing of the meeting were properly set. All participants of the meeting were previously invited and they were present in that meeting in time. The topic of the meeting was to disclose financial information where all the stakeholders were stuck to the point. Characteristics of this meeting were

·       Communication with stakeholders

·       Identification of proper agenda

·       Everyone was clear about their expectations

·       In time participation

·       Everyone got the scope to express their views

Thus, the meeting was successful as it properly maintained all necessary aspects of n ideal meeting.
