I feel a successful leader requires to posses several qualities. Some are in born qualities such as social skills and skills related to communicating and making strong, meaningful relations. While, some qualities can be learnt such as analytical skills, people handling skills, etc. Thus, a successful leader is one who can utilize his/her in born skills and learn the traits he/she lacks through guidance and training

Assessing natural leadership qualities can be done by estimating the effectiveness of executing tasks, I.e. how confidently and efficiently you execute the tasks assigned to you help determine your natural leadership trait. Therefore, an in born leader will excel at his/her task despite any difficulties and use intutative solutions and methods to perform them with highest efficiency.

A leadership plays a vital role in team performance. A good leader motivates team to perform, guides members in case of problems and facilitates self decision making. Therefore a leader helps the team achieve it's targets, ultimately organizational targets are accomplished.
