1. As a nursing student and as an individual, there are various groups in which you have the opportunity to participate.

Identify which groups you find personally satisfying and enriching and which groups you find difficult and problematic. What is different about each kind of group?

1)The nurse can opt for a official or formal group because this is organized and having certain plans.This group enhance the knowledge level.They have different level of designated staff and guide other

The problematic group can be an informal group because if a proper planning is not done.It may affect wholely.

Sharing personal feeling in a group increases our self confidence in the group and forms a motivation for others in the group. Each group makes a different ideas when it implements.

2)It can be classified in simple as behavioral style and situational style.some of the style listed underneath

  • Democratic style' taking suggestions from the group
  • Transformational: based on intellectual ability of the group
  • Transformational style: the lease usually command the group
  • Servant style: it has a collective decision making with the group
  • Autocratic style: has control over the group
  • Laissez style: people selected according to their skills

Selection box democratic leadership is good because thus helps in discussion with the client and making a decision. The roles of the group members are unique and finally a collective decision is made.

3)Advantages of group therapy

  • Promote social skills
  • Good support is received
  • Enhance self courage and self confidence
  • Cost saving
  • Time saving
  • Good interaction and improvement in communication
  • Helps in sharing different thoughts and ideas

Disadvantage of group therapy

  • Individual attention is not possible
  • Needs a bigger area for group therapy
  • Feeling of shy to disclose certain personal incidents in group
  • Privacy cannot be maintained
  • Opposite thinking may rise conflicts between individual
