Answer #1

Mammals that lay eggs are called monotremes and yes platypus is a mammal which lay eggs but it is not the only animal which lay eggs, echidnas is an animal which also lay eggs. Both of them found in Australia and are warm blooded, covered with fur and nurse their young ones.

Female platypus make more extensive burrows than male that is where they rear the young ones. Eggs develops in the mothers body for 28 days and the the eggs ( not more than 3) are laid in the burrow. Females curls around the eggs to provide warmth. They hatch into lima bean size after 10 days. Mother platypus doe not have nipples but still the milk come out of the pores of the skin and get collects in the grooves on their stomach so babies lap the milk rather than suck. For about the months they are still inside the burrow and the they come out of it start learning new things.
