They are typically responsible for managing a team of researchers and reporting their findings to the head of the department. Teams across the company then use these findings to help improve products, guide marketing efforts, and more.

The Market Research Manager is responsible for selecting the appropriate research methodology and supporting techniques to meet a defined business objective. Depending upon the selected methods, the Research Manager develops or assists in the development of the research instrument.

1. Interface between Market Research and Business Analytics to synthesize internal database information.

2. Exhibit analytical and MR techniques knowledge and use in MR studies.

3. Display commitment to high quality, cost effective and timely research.

4. Coordinate with Marketing Division staff to design and evaluate marketing campaigns.

5. Develop and execute customer opinion studies and quantitative and qualitative market research studies.

6. Perform market segmentation research and develop customer engagement strategies.

7. Research and develop customer retention strategies.

8. Develop sampling plans and perform statistical analysis on time series regression.

9. Investigate market conditions, determine opportunities and create corresponding solutions to customer concerns.

10. Review travel demand estimates, create ridership projections and suggest on service design.

the Market Research Manager is responsible for producing market research reports to assist in evaluating product/service performance and assessing future trends. A key part of the role is commissioning surveys and coordinating research projects.
