A CMM machine is a tool used to calculate the geometric physical properties of an object. This method uses a probe fixed onto the CMM machine's third moving axis, which is used to determine the dimensions of the component in question. Also, a CMM system is used to test and validate a component or assembly and ensure it conforms to the intended specification. The cycle begins by positioning the component or unit on the base of the CMM system which is where the calculation takes place. The base plate is made of a durable material and provides stability and rigidity, ensuring external forces do not disturb the measurement.A movable gantry is placed over a CMM system block, holding a vertical column armed with the measuring probe. The CMM machine will guide the probe along the X, Y and Z-axis, digitally replicating each facet of the fabricated component. When the probe strikes the object, the stylus generates an electrical pulse that is mapped out by computer. This cycle is often repeated to collect thousands of marks, depending on the size of the section.A CMM computer analyzes manufactured parts effectively after weighing them? If the probe is used to catch the component or assembly co-ordinatesX, Y and Z, the detail is processed for function construction. This can also be designed to weigh the same pieces automatically in a repeatable way.

Limitations

Sample must hit surface-The instrument used on a CMM system is needed to make direct contact with a surface for a measurement.
