Worcester Vs Georgia
The case deals with the laws passed during 1800s after an agreement between Cherokee tribe and Georgia. As per this law, Indian territories were not meant to be habitated by others and non-native Americans can reside there, upon special permission.
Sam Worcester, a missionary was living there, with his family and other missionaries. They were arrested when they refused to leave the Indian lands nor seek permission and they filed a case to the Supreme Court, claiming violation of their constitutional rights.

Justice John Marshall, favoured the case to Worcester and stated that, Georgia did not have the power to enforce laws outside its jurisdiction. These have to be considered as international talks. The Court confirmed the violation of 14th Amendment -citizens have right to life, liberty and happiness and Government cannot block it. This case is an example that, the Government should not violate the constitution and over-step the boundaries and treat everyone equally.
