To the best of my knowledge they are only 4 types of verbal communication. They are:

  • Intrapersonal Communication.
  • Interpersonal communication.
  • Small Group Communication.
  • Public Communication.

Intrapersonal Communication:

  • Intrapersonal communication can be defined as communication with in which one can self-talk, imagination and visualization.
  • It reflects our habits, roles, attitudes, beliefs and values.
  • Example-Every person talks to himself when he or she is alone.

Interpersonal communication:

  • The communication takes place between two individuals.
  • it is basically a face-to-face communication.
  • Example-Giving and receiving instructions.

Small Group Communication:

  • The interaction between three or more people, who are connected because of some common purpose.
  • Because it is a small group its easy to solve problems.
  • Example-A group of friends.

Public Communication:

  • In public communication many people will be gathered.
  • Its very difficult to impress every member in the public.
