Firstly Credit card company provides privacy of the credit card number. Only the users have access to the their credit card number and along with that additional verification steps like personal identification number (PIN) and digital signature is provided to the user and also the CVV. So that, if any case, Credit card is lost then user can block their card easily over a phone call and due to PIN and digital signature, it is very hard to misuse the stolen card.

And moreover, while doing online transactions using credit card, along all the details mentioned above, merchant companies send OTP to their registered mobile numbers which adds further layer of security. And also the will be limited time to enter the received otp for the successful transaction.
