Explain the difference between sensation and perception, then give at least one example from your life experience of this difference? the answer must be at least half a page .

Difference between sensation and perception

Sensation generated in form of some kind of outside stimuli which is converted into neural signals forming a sensation.

Perception is based on previous experiences of an individual about a particular issue.Perception vary from person to person because of high dependency on previous experience.

Sensation are absorbed through senses.Generally human beings use 5 senses eg. Touch, hearing, vision, smell and taste.

Perception is generated through experiences with a mix how cognitive ability of an individual about how to perceive a situation.

Difference based on life experience

The main difference which i feel from my life experiences is that sensations are not much influenced by the external environment like family, peers and society whereas perception is largely influenced by the societal factors and our previous experiences with family environment and peers influence our perception largely.
