After reviewing Chapter 17, list and describe the various ways you leverage technology to communicate on a daily basis. Be specific.
Encourage collaborative work-Today's innovations make it easy to use professional social media and collaboration resources to keep up-to-date on projects. Some of the possible methods to encourage co-working are: file sharing: but not in the illicit, torrented way. You can just use Dropbox, Google Drive, or whatever else. Mass storage fees are low, the software is simple, and you've got the peace of mind that everything is secure and well-communicated, not to mention cloud backup.
Wikis: Build a platform where the workers can find all the knowledge they need on their own–a training and development center for self-access. It will help everybody get to the same page and keep all of the workers up-to-date on the right way to do stuff. Tools for organizing and handling projects: like Asana, Jira, and Basecamp. These sites allow you to create, organize and delegate tasks and share some elements in shared projects. You can also have inter-task discussions and calls.
Use Gamification- Generally speaking, a key issue in education is creating sufficient motivation to allow students to invest the time and energy needed to learn. Because gamification makes day-to-day realistic tasks (such as training) more persuasive, it can be used effectively to improve participation rates in eLearning courses and increase employee motivation.
People have a natural desire to compete, and you will find workers laughing and competing with each other if there is a nice, observable way to do so. It's not a' just have it done' case of wanting to keep up with their colleagues. And that's fun.
Peer-to-Peer Recognition- A lack of appreciation as one of their main causes of unhappiness at work is cited by 43 percent of workers. Smart organizations have begun implementing P2P (peer-to-peer) support to improve employee engagement.
This approach also works for those who have leadership issues or are not getting along with their supervisors. It's an unfortunate fact of life that, because they have tension with their manager, most employees out there are robbed of recognition or positive feedback. If these staff had their colleagues ' support and appreciation, they would be able to overcome this obstacle much easier.
