How can sea urchin embryos be used to indicate water pollution?
Sea urchin embryos can be used to indicate water pollution by the abnormal behavior the embryos show during the development time. Different level of polluted water can be used for such indication. Sea urchin tends to show abnormal development of embryos like in the stages of gastrulation, blastula formation and various armed pluteus formation . If the water is polluted from the chemical , fertilizers oils from the drilling, these things affected their embryonic development severely. Many abnormalities like exogastrula, incomplete development of pair of arms are being observed. Exogastrula is a condition in which yhe forming endoderm increases abnormally in quantity and is even incapable to invaginate. This is a common problem shown by urchin embryos which are present in polluted water. The development patterns are destructively effected by water pollution as well as survival of the marine animals.

Question 4 Topic: Gastrulation in sea urchin (8 points) a) Choose one of the cell behaviors listed below and explain how it contributes to the process of gastrulation in sea urchins. In your answer be sure to describe how this cell behavior happens and the specific step in gastrulation where this cell behavior takes place. Some of these behaviors work in more than one step, you only need to explain its role in one. epithelial to mesenchymal transition apical constriction...
